The courage of little 'Tiger Dan' Jennings was not lost on Wests Tigers props Todd Payten and Keith Galloway on Friday, August 14.

Payten and Galloway volunteered their time on their day off in to the lead up to Sunday's clash against the Cronulla Sharks to make a special trip to the Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick to see this remarkable young boy.

With his parents Cathie and Darren by his side, the 12-year-old sat up in a wheelchair for the first time since having both his legs and hips broken during a four hour operation to correct his cerebral palsy. He is now facing six months of rehabilitation.

What makes his tale unique is that two days before his big operation, 'Tiger Dan' was still thinking about helping other children less fortunate.

In the lead-up to the operation, 'Tiger Dan' wanted to do something special for the Sydney Children's Hospital and decided to walk with his family in the annual City to Surf last Sunday.

With an initial goal of $2009 in mind, 'Tiger Dan' got in some fitness work after joining Galloway on the treadmill in the Wests Tigers gym a few weeks back to help raise awareness of his fund-raising campaign.

Wearing his Wests Tigers t-shirt and with the support of parents, Darren and Cathy, and sister, Lara, alongside him, Dan completed the City to Surf walk in a time of 3hrs.51min.55sec and in doing so, raised more than $5000 for the children's hospital.

The Jennings wasted little time afterwards, making a quick dash over to the Sydney Football Stadium to watch the Wests Tigers make it five wins in a row. The family are proud Wests Tigers Members.

Supporters can still make donations to help Dan raise even more funds for the hospital at http://www.everydayhero.com.au/daniel_jennings_1.

Wests Tigers wish one of their bravest supporters in 'Tiger Dan' a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him again soon.
