| While a bump or bruise here and there after a tough game on the footy field is to be expected- off the field it’s not. Without appropriate action to address violence against women, an estimated three-quarters of a million Australian women will experience and report violence annually in the next ten years; a figure that is totally unacceptable. Rugby League is committed to stamping out violence against women and we want Rugby League Clubs to lend their voice. From now until Friday 31st August, you can submit a 30 sec video of your Junior Rugby League Club declaring an anti-violence message. The winner chosen will demonstrate creativity and innovation in showcasing their strong commitment to eradicating violence against women. By doing so, you could win $2000 worth of equipment for your Club! The winning entry will be announced at the annual One Community Awards, being held in Sydney’s Town Hall on Monday 24th September 2012, with the winning entry played on the night. Two representatives from the successful club will be invited to accept their prize. All videos must be uploaded to either YouTube or Vimeo and the link sent to onecommunity@rugbyleague.com.au
