The Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars concept provided the perfect opportunity for government to align itself with a nationally recognised event by providing further awareness of national Indigenous issues and promotion of the opportunities that exist for Indigenous Australians to address the significant levels of disadvantage still experienced within the community still today.

In partnership with the Australian Government, through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, the Learn Earn Legend! concept was created.

The concept encourages and supports young Indigenous Australians to stay at school, get that job and be a legend for themselves, their family and their community.

Through this partnership the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) contributes to the overall objectives of the concept, which forms part of the broader ‘Close the Gap’ agenda, by improving numeracy and literacy, education attainment and employment outcomes.

The ARLC is committed to supporting key initiatives such as Learn Earn Legend! through the positive vehicle and profile of Rugby League and the development of the game’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
