The Canberra Raider’s veteran Alan Tongue left the side in 2011 but isn’t far from the game he loves.

He been captained his side since 2007 and played an impressive 220 games. He efforts were well rewarded in 2008 where Tongue won the Dally M Captain and Lock of the year in 2008 and has represented NSW Country Origin.
At the time of his retirement, Tongue announced how proud he was of his achievements.

"I can say with pride that I've given everything I can to the club, to my team-mates and to the Raiders jersey,"

After an extraordinary 12 year first grade career, Tongue has moved on to explore his options post-playing options. As an ambassador for Rugby League’s One Community, Tongue has been involved in supporting many projects such as DonateLife, Harmony Day and State of Origin Job Experience.
