| Each year in February marking the anniversary of the Australian Government’s apology to the stolen generation, the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars is an important symbol of the way all Australians can celebrate a proud and rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Indigenous) history and culture with a vision to work towards a future that all Australians can share.
Twenty of the best Indigenous NRL players (Indigenous All Stars) are pitted against twenty of the best NRL players (NRL All Stars), including the incumbent Australian and New Zealand Captains, in an exhibition match that is formidably played with passion and pride, highlighting Indigenous issues across the country and bringing together the Indigenous, non-Indigenous and Rugby League community in an example of practical reconciliation in the twenty-first century.
The legacy is seen through the delivery of community-based programs and initiatives derived from revenue raised by the game and aligned with ‘whole of community’, sustainable outcomes that meet genuine need at the grassroots level.
On Saturday, 9 February the fourth annual Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars game will be held at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
